Fullblood Akaushi Wagyu Embryos for Sale

A limited number of fullblood red Wagyu embryos from the program's herd sire and a Buck Mountain Ranch foundation cow, offered by private treaty.

Signature Wagyu & Genetics, Matt Ragland's fullblood red Wagyu program in Hazel Green, North Alabama, offers fullblood Akaushi embryos in limited numbers. Embryos are a way to bring a complete fullblood pedigree into your herd, both sire and dam, using your own recipient cows.

The mating

The featured embryos are Tamamaru 60E × BMR Ms. Rueshaw 01 249F ET. Both parents are AWA-registered fullblood red Wagyu (Akaushi), and both were bred by Buck Mountain Ranch.

The sire, BMR Mr. Tamamaru 60E ET (FB32805), is the program's flagship herd sire: long bodied and muscular, with excellent breed character, easy moving and structurally correct. He is sired by Tamamaru, one of the most widely used Akaushi bulls thanks to his consistency and his mother, Dai 8 Marunami, and his dam is by Kalanga Red Star on top of the Gabni Rubi cow.

The dam, BMR Ms. Rueshaw 01 249F ET (FB42885), born 9/26/2018, is one of three registered fullblood Buck Mountain Ranch cows that form the program's female base.

About the program

Matt Ragland is American Wagyu Association member #2698, and every animal in the herd is AWA-registered fullblood, sold with honest pedigrees. Every mating starts from the same five traits: marbling, docility, maternal ability, structure and feet, and growth. Good cattle have to eat well, raise a calf, stay sound and be easy to live with.

Storage and transfer

The embryos are stored frozen at Bickett Genetics in the Chickamauga, Georgia area. Quantity is limited, so ask for the current count. Embryos can be transferred from storage, so you do not need to travel to the ranch to take delivery.

Why Akaushi embryos

Akaushi, the red Wagyu from Japan's Kumamoto region, are known for marbling, tenderness and flavor, along with good maternal traits, docility and adaptability to Southern heat. Calves from these embryos carry that package on both sides of the pedigree.

How to buy

Embryos are sold by private treaty; call for pricing. Call, text or email Matt with what you are looking for and your timeline, get the pedigree and current availability, put down a deposit, and pay the balance at transfer. Breeding consultation is offered if you want help planning.
