Akaushi Semen for Sale: BMR Mr. Tamamaru 60E ET

Fullblood red Wagyu (Akaushi) semen on the flagship herd sire of Signature Wagyu & Genetics in Hazel Green, Alabama, just north of Huntsville.

Signature Wagyu & Genetics offers Akaushi semen on BMR Mr. Tamamaru 60E ET, AWA registration FB32805, a fullblood red Wagyu bull born 3/18/2017 and bred by Buck Mountain Ranch. The program is owned and run by Matt Ragland, American Wagyu Association member #2698, in Hazel Green in North Alabama.

About the sire

60E is a very attractive bull with a lot of style and balance: long bodied and muscular, with excellent breed character and masculinity. He is easy moving, athletic and structurally correct from every angle. In the pasture and around people he is a gentleman, and he is very hard working with the cows.

Pedigree

His sire, Tamamaru, is one of the most widely used Akaushi bulls thanks to his consistency and his legendary mother, Dai 8 Marunami. Tamamaru's sire, Dai 5 Tamanami Tokkyu 96, provides an outcross to the rest of the 1994 importation. On the bottom side, 60E's dam is by Kalanga Red Star on top of the famous Gabni Rubi cow, adding performance, length of body and stoutness of structure. That puts Tamamaru on the top side and Kalanga Red Star on the bottom of every straw.

Why use an Akaushi bull

Akaushi, the red Wagyu from Japan's Kumamoto region, are known for marbling, tenderness and flavor, along with good maternal traits, docility and adaptability to Southern heat. For commercial cattlemen, an Akaushi bull is a way to add marbling and eating quality to calves. For registered breeders, semen on a fullblood, AWA-registered sire keeps pedigrees honest and straightforward.

What we select for

Every mating in the program starts from the same five traits: marbling, docility, maternal ability, structure and feet, and growth. Good cattle have to eat well, raise a calf, stay sound and be easy to live with, and 60E was chosen as herd sire because he brings length, muscle and stoutness of build without giving up the eating quality the breed is known for.
